There must be something in the Westeros water. After “Game of Thrones” stars Lena Headey and Charles Dance joined the cast of the zombie-rific “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,”
their fellow GOT’er and child-marrying Natalie Dormer has signed on to front a zombie flick of her own.
Dormer will take the lead in Screen Gems’ “Patient Zero,” with Stefan Ruzowitzky set to direct.
Per Deadline, the plot of “Patient Zero” goes thusly:
Patient Zero focuses on an unprecedented global pandemic that causes the evolution of a new species. An aggressive form of rabies turns the infected into predators, addicted to violence. An inexplicably gifted human survivor with the ability to speak the new mutant language leads a hunt for Patient Zero and hope for a cure.I’m assuming Dormer is that “inexplicably gifted human survivor.”
Dormer is on a roll. Besides her continuing machinations in “Game of Thrones,” she’s got the two “Hunger Games: Mockingjay” two-parter coming up, and although I never noticed her before, now whenever I see “Captain America: The First Avenger” on cable TV (which is like every day — thanks, FX Channel!), I now recognize her. Go figure.
